TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Palmetto Club Properties, the owner of the Killearn Country Club and Inn is now looking to demolish a small inn that is on the property.

The city will be discussing a possible agreement with Palmetto for the developer to demolish the inn, including the underlying slab, and maintain traffic and stormwater reservation for three years.

The course has experienced financial difficulties in recent years, said the developer, and is looking to demolish the 40 room inn that it claims is already in poor condition.

Development on the course has been the topic of discussion for several months after the company announced that it wanted to close the 9-hole portion of the golf course known as the North course. The developer announced plans to sell that potion of the course and use the money to refurbish the remainder of the golf course and clubhouse.

Several Killearn residents objected to the plan to sell part of the golf course and are now in litigation with the company.

This city is expected to talk about the demolition of the inn during its Wednesday meeting.
