TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee is allowing residents to fill up sand bags in preparation for Tropical Storm Erika.
Officials say starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, residents can fill bags at the Messer Field South Softball Complex.
Residents are being told that they must bring their own shovel and fill the bags themselves; there is a 25 bag limit per home. This location will be open until it is determined that the storm threat has passed.
Officials also say they are preparing to monitor trouble drainage spots throughout the city as well as have Electric Utility response crews available for instances of power outages.
