TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee leaders are proposing a new budget for the fiscal year.
The budget for Fiscal Year 2017 totals nearly $146 million, which is about $3 million less than last year.
Leaders say $55 million of that budget will go towards resources for the Tallahassee Police Department, and it does not increase the millage rate.
The proposed budget was presented to City Commissioners and the community during a workshop Monday by City Manager Ricardo Fernandez.
The final budget hearings are in September, with the budget going into effect October 1, 2016.
