TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee (COT) today named Timothy A. Lee as the director of the Consolidated Dispatch Agency (CDA). The CDA was formed as the communications hub of Emergency Medical Services, Fire and Law Enforcement for Leon County, the City of Tallahassee and the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

According to Alison Faris, a spokeswoman for COT, Lee brings more than 19 years of public safety experience to Tallahassee and Leon County. Lee is a Marine Corps veteran who spent 15 years working for the Allen County Sheriff’s Office. Faris adds, he most recently served as the executive director for the Fort Wayne and Allen County Consolidated Communication Partnership (CCP), which serves 20 life-saving agencies in northeast Indiana.

“I’m confident that with his background and expertise in operating this type of agency, Mr. Lee will provide the kind of strong leadership and keen oversight necessary to operate the CDA, which is home to our community’s public safety agencies and operations,” said City of Tallahassee Manager Anita Favors Thompson.

Lee will take over as the Director of the CDA on Monday, February 3, 2014. Lee will manage a staff of 100 and maintain responsibility for a $7.6 million budget.
