City of Tallahassee has "refreshing news" about water quality

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee says that the city's drinking water "far exceeds all regulations set by state and federal agencies."

The city has released its 2017 Water Quality Annual Report, saying that this year once again shows that the water's quality is top notch.

The 2017 report is based on the results for the period of January 1 to December 31, 2016.

To maintain the highest drinking water quality, the city uses a nationally-recognized and certified lab that tests with "much greater frequency and stricter limits than required by governmental regulations."

“Here in Tallahassee we are blessed with an exceptionally clean and sweet tasting source of drinking water in the Floridian aquifer. With rigorous testing and a committed staff, the City is dedicated to delivering pure, high quality water directly to your tap,” Commissioner Nancy Miller said.

The city offered the following tips to help make sure the water from the city's pipes make it to your home:

- Maintaining your home’s plumbing system, which can include replacing older pipes or flushing the system if it’s been stagnant for an extended period

- Using water wisely
