NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) -- The City of North Port is working to approve medical marijuana dispensaries.
The city is now passing a first draft of an ordinance that would put an 800-foot buffer between any dispensaries and schools and churches.
There is not a buffer for residential homes.
So far, the compassionate care clinic in Venice is the only place on the Suncoast to receive a prescription for medical marijuana.
