MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) - Moultrie's city council is planning to raise property taxes for the coming year. But before they do, the city is holding three public meetings to discuss the council's plan.
The first two hearings are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday. They will be in the council chambers on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 21 First Ave. N.E.
According to the Moultrie Observer, the council voted August 5 to set next year's millage rate at 12.8 mills, which is 1.85 mills more than the current rate.
