Bainbridge, Ga. (WTXL) - The city of Bainbridge is taking another step closer to approving its 19 million dollar budget for fiscal year 2014-2015. The almost-200-page proposal details how the recently increased millage rate will impact the city's revenue after the city saw a decrease in incoming sales tax after 2012.
70% of the general fund set at nearly 9 million, will go toward personnel costs such as salary and employees. The proposal details how the city raised property taxes aimed at getting the city out of a deficit. The final version of the budget is scheduled to be adopted September 16th by the Bainbridge city council.
