TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - City officials are following up on an audit of Tallahassee's public works department.
It showed, over the course of four years, the public works employees earned more than $3 million in overtime.
To curb spending, the city developed ten action plan steps.
Some of the changes include requiring overtime authorization and cross-training employees so they can help when other departments are short-handed. All overtime issues are now reported as addressed and resolved.
