MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - Thursday night, commissioners are gathering at the Midway special city council meeting to announce a new business coming to the city.

Midway officials are thrilled to bring a new truck service station to the city.

Tallahassee Truck and R.V. Services is in the perfect location for travelers, just miles from I-10 on Highway 90. Officials say it's gong to be great for the area, attracting people into midway, to other businesses, and boosting the local economy.

After years of planning, construction began a month and a half ago.

"We have some other companies that have interest to getting out on Highway 90 as well. So our economic development goals are being reached at this time," said Leslie Steele, the city manager of Midway. "We want them slow and steady, we want our growth to be responsible and we want to do things that will help the citizens of Midway."

Officials anticipate the new business will bring new job opportunities to the city of Midway.

Also in Thursday night's meeting, they are discussing and revising Florida Statue 119. We'll have more details about adjustments made to statue 119 during the city council meeting coming up on your news at 11.
