TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee City Commissioner is getting national recognition.
Gil Ziffer was appointed Chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) Human Development Federal Advocacy committee.
As a result, he will also serve on the National League of Cities Board of Directors.
Ziffer was appointed by NLC President Matt Zone at the group's annual business meeting in November, at the 2016 City Summit in Pittsburgh.
The commissioner says this recognition is an honor, and he hopes to solve issues in the Capital City.
"Serving as Chair of the HD Committee is clearly an honor and allows me the opportunity to play a critical role in helping solve many of the issues our cities face, including Tallahassee," Ziffer said. "While we all have different needs, we also share similar opportunities that have a better chance at success if we work collectively."
Ziffer will play an important role as a leader of the nation's largest and most representative membership and advocacy organization for city officials.
