TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee City Commission will host two Town Hall meetings in February to get input from residents on the proposed Public Safety Campus.

The city said the meetings will take place on Monday, Feb. 18, at the Tallahassee Senior Center and on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Walker-Ford Community Center. Both meetings will take place from 6-8 p.m.

The proposed Public Safety Campus is expected to be built along South Monroe Street near Orange Avenue. The vision is for the campus to serve as a community gathering place, while also housing the headquarters for the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD).

According to the city, the development could include recreational spaces, public meeting rooms, regional training facilities and more. A multi-functional facility will help police officers connect and build strong bonds with residents, a focus of TPD’s community policing efforts.

The city stated community engagement is essential in the development of the proposed campus. Feedback will continue to be asked from residents during the entire process including the design phase planned for this year.
