TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee is celebrating minority businesses by hosting the 22nd Annual Big Bend Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week from September 28 - October 2.
This week focuses on outstanding achievements and contributions made by small and minority businesses. The theme for this year's event is "Connecting Business with Opportunity."
The week allows local and regional small and minority-owned businesses to celebrate the positive impact that they have on the economy.
The week began with a worship service on Sunday at Arnett Chapel AME Church in in Quincy.
On Monday, September 29, from 6 – 8 p.m., the Kick-Off Networking Reception will take place at the Small Business Development Center on 2035 E. Paul Dirac Drive, Suite 130.
On Wednesday, October 1, a series of workshops will take place throughout the day at Florida State University's Turnbull Conference Center, located at 555 W. Pensacola Street. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
