TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tallahassee city leaders are giving residents an opportunity to see first hand how their tax dollars are put to use.
Residents are invited to apply to take part in an upcoming "Neighborhood Leadership Academy". The 9 week course meets every Tuesday evening beginning September 2, from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
During the course, residents will be able to tour and gain hands-on understanding of a number of different City departments. They include tours of Tallahassee's police department, fire department, Public Safety Complex, StarMetro, traffic control center and others.
The program is open to all residents living within the Tallahassee city limits.
