TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Two months after Hurricane Hermine hit the panhandle, citizens from a post-hurricane task force discussed with state officials to highlight how post-recovery was handled and what things could've been done to make it better.

Citizens for Responsible Spending presented the Post Hurricane Best Practices Task Force report Monday at the Florida Press Association.

Led by former Lt. Governor Jeff Kottcamp and J. Sam Bell, the purpose of the group was to create a model of best practices, to ensure a smooth and rapid coordinated response to the emergency.

The report evaluated areas such as chain of command, communication among citizens, and resources for people with special needs.

The task force was created after Hurricane Hermine, in response to the level of complaints received from community members, and local and state authorities.
