Citizen complaints lead to two arrests in Valdosta

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Multiple undercover operations led officers to arrest two men for selling drugs.

The Valdosta Police Department says that within the last month, they have received multiple complaints about illegal drug activity in the 1400 block of North Lee Street and the 700 block of North Ashley Street. 

On Wednesday, officers conducted an undercover operation in the 1400 block of North Lee Street to investigate the complaints. During the first operation, Valdosta Police talked to Christopher Oliver, 32.

During the investigation, police found evidence of Oliver's involvement and arrested him.

A second undercover investigation led police to Dane Cox, 38, in the 700 block of North Ashley Street. VPD was also able to connect Cox to the drug sales and arrested him.

Both are facing the following charges: 

Christopher Oliver, 32:

  • Sale of Methamphetamine (FELONY)
  • Possession of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a Park (FELONY)
  • Sale of Marijuana (FELONY)  
  • Possession of Marijuana within 1000 feet of a Park (FELONY)
  • Further charges are pending

Dane Cox, 38:

  • Sale of Methamphetamine (FELONY)
  • Possession of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a Park (FELONY)
  • Sale of Marijuana (FELONY)  
  • Possession of Marijuana within 1000 feet of a Park (FELONY)
  • Further charges are pending
