TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It's time to take down the Christmas tree and the City of Tallahassee is making sure you know that you can either leave it at your curb or take it to four locations around the Capital City.
New this year, you can also recycle your Christmas lights.
Trees like the ones here at Myers Park will be turned into mulch and used on the paths at city parks.
You can also drop them off at Tom Brown Park, San Luis Park, and the Four Points by Sheraton.
The city recycling coordinator says these effort keep the trees out of the landfill.
Paul Hurst, a recycling coordinator said, "It's kind of senseless to take something that's nicely scented and biodegradable and a beneficial reuse opportunity and not use it."
Bins are available for your Christmas lights that maybe you have replaced or aren't working.
