TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department says three children were rescued from a fire Monday morning.

Firefighters say they were on scene at a two-story, 4 unit apartment building on the 1400 Block of Fisher Lane around 8:45 a.m.

There was heavy smoke coming from the building and firefighters say three kids were found sleeping on the second floor while the building filled with smoke.

The fire was found in the kitchen of one of the apartments and firefighters say they quickly extinguished it.

An adult in another unit was taken to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation but no other injuries were reported.

The damages are estimated to be $100,000.
