KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Two buses carrying children home from an intermediate and a primary school collided on a Tennessee highway, killing two children and an adult.
Another 23 people were injured in the Tuesday afternoon crash.
Police did not immediately say what caused the crash that sent one of the buses onto its side. Knoxville Police Chief David Rausch says the adult who died was not a driver and may have been an aide.
The three people who were most seriously injured were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. East Tennessee Children's Hospital spokeswoman Erica Estep says another 20 children were being treated there for injuries that were not life-threatening.
