GRAND RIDGE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say four children and one adult are dead after an Interstate 10 crash in the Florida Panhandle.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 32-year-old Sabrina Turk was driving east in a small car Sunday afternoon when the vehicle crossed the center line for an unknown reason and skidded into the oncoming lanes.
The agency says a pickup hit the car's passenger side, ejecting an adult in the passenger seat and four children, ages 6 to 11, in the backseat. Turk was critically injured. All the passengers were killed. Troopers say no one in the car was wearing a seat belt. They were all from Winder, Georgia.
Officials say the pickup overturned but came to rest upright. Authorities say the driver and two of his passengers suffered minor injuries, and a third passenger was seriously injured.
It wasn't immediately clear whether charges would be filed.
