JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A father and son were arrested following a child pornography bust in Jackson County.

Joseph Artis, 31, and Joe Jones, 49, was arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, deputies executed a search warrant at a home on Harley Drive in Marianna, Florida.

Deputies received information from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department that Artis had been sending and receiving child pornography via electronic devices.

Once the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department learned that Artis lived in Jackson County, the case was transported to the Department of Homeland Security.

In January, the Department of Homeland Security and a Homeland Security Task Force member with the JCSO began investigating Artis.

After conforming several of his social media accounts were used to transmit child pornography, a search warrant was obtained for Artis' home.

Deputies found in the home a .45 caliber handgun, which was purchased by Artis. Deputies later discovered that the handgun was bought by Artis for his father, Jones, who is a convicted felon.

Deputies learned that Jones had an active warrant in New York City for grand theft.

Jones admitted to deputies that the handgun found in the home did belong to him and that he was a convicted felon.

Based on the evidence, Artis is being charged with possession of child pornography, and transmission of child pornography via electronic device.

Jones is being charged with possession of a firearm while a convicted felon and a fugitive from justice.

Both were transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
