LAKE PARK, Ga. (WTXL) - State officials have identified the man whose arrest for child molestation prompted them to shut down a local home childcare.

The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) has issued an Order for Intended Emergency Closure for Dawn Barnhart’s Family Childcare Learning Home, at 786 Highway 376 in Lake Park, Georgia 31636.

Orders for Intended Emergency Closure are issued by the agency when it is determined that the health, safety, or welfare of children may be in imminent danger.

The action stems from a man in the provider’s home being arrested and charged with child molestation.

That man has now been identified as Jeremy Barnhart. He was arrested on July 2 and booked on $50,000 bond. He made bond same day he was arrested.

Officials say parents impacted by this situation can connect with child care resources at www.allgakids.org or by calling the toll-free number 1-877-ALL GA KIDS. Parents who get connected can get help finding quality child care options for free.
