TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Students at Buck Lake Elementary School participated in the fifth annual High Altitude Weather Balloon Launch.

The three balloons released will travel three times higher than an airplane and each of them, had their very own science experiment attached.

"What makes this awesome is that this is not science from a text book this is science in real life," said Billy Millard, Principal of Buck Lake Elementary School. "The kids get to experience it, they get to hold it, they get to plan for it, they're not just memorizing facts."

The students were joined by our very own First Alert Chief Meteorologist Casanova Nurse.
