HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) — Famed chef Michelle Bernstein is teaming up with a South Florida hospital to create a special menu for patient undergoing chemotherapy.
As part of the one-year agreement, Bernstein will develop two signature recipes and a complete menu, and will personally train and provide assistance to the hospital's kitchen staff.
The menu items will be available to patients receiving chemotherapy treatment at Memorial Regional Hospital, Memorial Hospital West and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. Patients often spend several hours at the hospital while they receive treatment.
Bernstein is a James Beard Foundation Award-winning chef known for her Latin-style cooking and her fresh take on Florida cuisine. She was also born at Memorial Regional Hospital.
