(WTXL) - A Georgia charter school is bringing back an old form of discipline that's not sitting well with some parents.

The Georgia School for Innovation and the Classics in Richmond County is bringing back paddling as a form of discipline.

Parents got a consent to paddle form asking them if they're okay with administrators hitting their child with a wooden paddle.

It's reported that less than a third of parents who've responded have given consent for their kids to be paddled.

The school says it will use a three-strike policy, meaning the paddling won't happen until a third offense.

The new policy goes into effect this year.
