TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist paid a visit to Tallahassee Thursday night to promote his new book.
Crist, this time running for Governor as a Democrat, stopped by the Tallahassee Books-A-Million on Thomasville Road to sign copies of his new book "The Party's Over: How the Extreme Right Hijacked the GOP and I Became a Democrat."
Crist spoke to media and voters about his campaign against incumbent Governor Rick Scott. The Democratic contender said he believes the GOP's agenda in recent years pushed moderates, himself included, out of the party.
A recent poll from Quinnipiac University showed Charlie Crist with an eight point lead over Governor Scott. Crist has differentiated himself from Scott in recent weeks, particularly on controversial wedge issues such as medical marijuana and U.S. relations with Cuba.
