EASTPOINT, Fla. (WTXL)-- Some major changes could be in store for St. George Island State Park this week.
On Tuesday, a public meeting will consider nearly $8 million of improvements for the park.
The proposal will consider ways to keep up with the growing number of visitors the park sees each year. More than 200,000 people visited the park last year alone.
With Governor Rick Scott's plan to increase tourism statewide to 100 million visitors in the next year, popular tourist spots like St. George are feeling the need to adjust to visitor demands.
The meeting will be tomorrow from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the St. George Volunteer Fire Department.
