TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Florida will be ringing in 2015 with change to the booster seat law.
Come Thursday, children ages four and five will be required to sit in a child safety seat or booster seat. They have to use more than just a seat belt.
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles says that booster seats reduce the risk of serious injury for children, especially when compared to a seat belt.
The state of Florida also says that it is recommended that children under 13 should sit in the back seat.
