TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Plans for sidewalk development on Magnolia Drive were approved this week, just days after construction began on a new shopping center in the same area.
Nearly $2 million have been approved for the sidewalk project.
New traffic lights will also be added to the road.
The project's approval pushes it forward nine years sooner than previously scheduled.
Also in that area, a new development will be called "Magnolia Grove" and will be home to several new retailers, including a Starbucks, Mattress One, and a Which Wich.
That area is expected to be open next fall, but construction on the sidewalk plans along Magnolia Drive will start in the summer of 2016.
