TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The championship Florida State Women's Soccer team has returned hom to Tallahassee.
WTXL ABC 27'sJada Williams was live Monday morning at the Tallahassee International Airport to share details about an upcoming celebration.
Later Monday the team will celebrate, but early Monday morning the champs were resting up, having arrived back in town from their overnight flight.
The women's soccer team beat the University of North Carolina 1-0 to take home their second NCAA National Championship.
And this is the second national championship for the school this year. You'll remember that the softball team brought a win back home over the summer.
Head Coach Mark Krikorian says the team fought hard and the community was an integral part the whole way.
"At the end of the day it's been a long weekend, to be honest with you, very difficult games, and a lot of preparation in a short amount of time for the final, and long travel to get back here too," he said. "We finally made it, we made it safely, and I think now we can all enjoy the moment."
You can celebrate the big win with the team Monday at the Champions Club at Doak Campbell Stadium. It starts at 5 p.m.
