TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- There will be bigger crowds at the amphitheater, which is scheduled to open next month.
City officials have approved expansion plans at the Centre of Tallahassee.
In September, mall developers filed paperwork to boost the amphitheater capacity to 10,000; the project was originally approved for around 6,700 seats.
The approval comes after last week's announcement of an "urban food market" right across from the amphitheater.
The city also approved a development agreement with the Centre, regarding noise guidelines at the amphitheater.
And while some nearby neighbors fought the plan, saying noise and traffic would be problems, committee members say the concerns were addressed between the city commission and the developer.
At Monday's Development Review Committee meeting, the measure to increase capacity was approved.
