MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers say careless driving caused a serious crash in Madison County, sending two men to the hospital.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Jason Jacobs was driving westbound on I-10, just east of County Road 255 near Lee, Florida around 2:45 a.m. Saturday when he hit the back of the semi-trailer in front of him.
Jacobs and 36-year-old Charlie Johnson, both from Crestview, Florida, were taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Johnson is still in the cardiac intensive care unit tonight. The driver of the semi was not injured.
Jacobs has been charged with carless driving, a civil traffic offense in Florida.
