TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee hospital is receiving a huge recognition for their gynecological work.
WTXL ABC's Jada Williams caught up with one of the doctors making that recognition possible.
Capital Regional Medical Center has just been awarded the Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award.
This national recognition is given out to hospitals with high success rates for gynecological surgeries.
Capital Regional patients have higher survival rates and fewer complications from procedures, according to Health Grades, a group that compiles data from hospitals across the country.
A doctor at the hospital spke about the award.
"I think it's very important never to lose sight of the fact that we're changing people's lives every time we step into that operating room," said Dr. Michael Douso. "It's a permanent change to that individual and we're trying very hard to make her life positive and better."
Dr. Douso says the award is just going to fuel his team to continue to strive for greatness.
