TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee community gathered to join a candlelight vigil for the Parkland school shooting victims.

The vigil, held at the Centre of Tallahassee, is one of more than 20 across the state organized by the Florida Parent Teacher Association.

Forty students from Broward County schools attended the vigil.

A Capital City resident shares how this tragedy is affecting her.

"The time is now to be a voice, to pull together for mental health services," Tina Reason said. "Address those needs. We have to, we cannot continue to ignore them. There is going to be more shootings, there are going to be more violent acts."

Tuesday the Florida PTA is honoring the Stoneman Douglas students with action. They are fighting to change gun control laws as part of the "Never again" campaign.
