TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--The Downtown Tallahassee Business Association hosted a debate, featuring four candidates competing for incumbent Sheriff Mike Wood's position on Thursday.
Also in the running is former Tallahassee Police Chief Walt,Tommy Mills, who is a reserve deputy in Gadsden County, and former Lieutenant for Leon County Sheriff's Office Charlie Strickland.
One topic the candidates hit on heavily was crime in the capital county.
They also discussed ways to fix the county's consolidated dispatch agency.
This is the first debate for the candidates, before voters go to the polls this November.
