TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - With the midterm election fast approaching, the time is now for voters to make their decision before casting their ballots on November 6th.

That's why Local candidates participated in a forum Thursday night to tell you why you should vote for them.

The goal is to engage the community and give residents a chance to get to know their upcoming elected officials.

Candidates in attendance included city and county commissioners, members of the school board, and circuit judges.

"I think this is a great way for the voters to get to know the candidates," said David Frank, a candidate for Leon County Circuit judge. "You have a moderator. You get a chance to give opening remarks and talk about your credentials and the kind of work you've done over the years. And the moderator and all the guests that are here get to ask questions."

The focus was to highlight how each candidate plans to improve minority and disenfranchised communities in Tallahassee.

The NAACP and National Pan-Hellenic Council hosted the forum.
