TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Rick Minor, who is running for city commission seat 3, is calling for commissioner Scott Maddox to step down after news broke Monday that he was the subject of a focused FBI investigation into bribery and mail fraud.
The CEO of Second Harvest of the Big Bend posted his thoughts on the news on Twitter Tuesday afternoon:
While Scott Maddox is entitled to his day in court, these are very serious allegations and it’d be best for the City and for him if he were to step down. We’re facing a long road to recovery, but we can’t even begin to take that first step so long as this hangs over City Hall.

News broke Monday that Scott Maddox and Paige Carter-Smith were specifically discussed in a 21 page search warrant affidavit that somehow wasn't sealed by the FBI.
Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum said in a statement Monday that while the news is troubling, he's hoping for a "speedy conclusion" to the allegations:
"As I have said from day one, any wrongdoing found in city hall should be uncovered and any individuals involved held accountable. As Tallahasseeans, we are all troubled by what we've read, and are hopeful for a just and speedy conclusion to this unfortunate matter."
