MITCHELL COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Mitchell County Schools says that a waterline break in Camilla Tuesday night forced three schools to close this morning.
They said that the waterline break caused Mitchell County High School, Mitchell County Middle School, and Mitchell County Primary School to close at 11 a.m.
Officials said that they were told about the line break until it was too late to cancel school. The district said that while most parents were able to pick up their children, a handful were taken to the district office to wait until the parents can get them.
They also mentioned that several businesses and homes in the area were without water as well.
The Camilla Water & Sewer Department said that they are still trying to figure out what caused the main break and they are unsure when it will be fixed.
