CAIRO, Ga. (WTXL) - The second annual Disability Resource Fair is being held Thursday at Cairo High School and is open to all.
The two-hour event, which started at 5:00 p.m. features over 40 different organizations offering resources to help families and caregivers of disabled individuals.
Service providers are assisting parents and guardians applying for services.
There are vendors who specialize in behavioral or mental health, while others provide information about recreation and activities.
"The bulk of our services probably are in the services, and support field or in the recreation area, which are the three services that people feel like there is the lest amount of assistance in," said Cathe Hoskins, Project Coordinator at Grady General Project Search. "We try to really make sure those things are covered here so people can try to get help."
Although the Disability Resource Fair is happening in Grady County, surrounding community members are encouraged to come out.
Many of the vendors at Thursday's fair cover multiple counties.
Those who are unable to make it to Cairo High School can still get plenty of information about the services at the fair by contacting Rebecca Best at 229-377-7396 or by emailing her at r.best1@grady.k12.ga.us.
