Burglary Suspect Captured By Valdosta State University Police

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)-- A burglary suspect was captured by Valdosta State University after he's was seen stashing a laptop in the bushes, said police.

Valdosta Police responded to the area of Brookwood Circle near Drexel Park in reference to man in the middle of the road on Tuesday. He was seen looking through a backpack, and then seen putting the laptop in the bushes.

Just as officers were talking to the people that called in the suspicious activity, the residents of a home on Slater Street told them they just got home. They found their back door open with several items missing.

Those items included a backpack, laptop, a digital camera, an Xbox, and games.

Soon after, Valdosta State University Police say they took someone into custody matching the description of the person. They found him in the area of the fine arts building on campus.

The suspect was identified as Drevon Jones. He was charged with burglary and for also having marijuana.
