TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Last month, our Building Tallahassee series took a closer look at the newest movie theater coming to the Capital City.

CMX Cinemas Fallschase will officially open later this week.

The latest surround-sound technology is now in Tallahassee. Dolby Atmos is one of several new features CMX Cinemas Fallschase, located at 147 Vermillion Blvd next to Costco, has to offer.

"It's a different movie-going experience," said Troy McDaniel, a regional operations director at CMX Cinemas. "We feel we've elevated to a new level."

The place had a lot of work still left to finish last month, but it's all done now.

We've told you about the food court, kitchen and bar. Residents who've had a sneak peek say they'll be back often.

Marsha Doll, a Fallschase area resident, said "I live not far from here, and I'm thinking, 'Oh, my gosh. This would be fun, just to come watch sports on TV, to mingle.' So many people are going to be here."

"We've got a brand new apartment community out there. We've got tons of families out there," said Patty Ballantine, who's a Buck Lake resident. "I know we've got the different schools that will definitely be helping to promote it as well. So, we're all excited about having it in our neighborhood."

The theater also has D-Box seats. This is the only theater in Tallahassee that has them. As you can see, the seat moves and shakes to the motion on the screen.

"Seeing movies is still an experience," said McDaniel. "The way that the industry has evolved, we're bringing the latest and the greatest, because we can offer something you can't get at home."

And it's almost showtime.

The grand opening for the theater is this Friday at 11 a.m.

Ticket prices range from $10.50 to $12.75 for adults depending on the day and time. On Tuesdays, tickets cost $5 all day for everyone, excluding D-Box seats.
