TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for Nicholas Brendon, known as Xander Harris on the TV show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for violating his pretrial agreement, according to Leon County court documents.

We were contacted this morning and informed that a warrant has been issued for Nick's arrest in Florida.

Nick has asked us to make the following approved statement on his behalf, before all of the news outlets post the story and social media takes off.

--Nicholas was unaware of the warrant that was issued for his arrest. This is a huge misunderstanding and he’s working with his legal team to correct the situation. He was receiving treatment during this time and also followed the conditions of his pre-trial release to the best of his knowledge. Since the incident in Tallahassee, he has been drug and alcohol free as requested by the court. There is a paper trail to support his efforts. He’s looking forward to clearing up this situation and continuing his path to recovery.

The "Buffy" star was arrested in March by Tallahassee Police after he was accused of trashing his hotel room at Hotel Duval. Hotel managers claim he caused hundreds of dollars in damage and was seen drinking and taking pills throughout the day. He was in town for the Alt Con festival at the North Florida Fair Grounds.

Brendon was released on March 14 after posting a $1,000 bond and agreeing to certain conditions, including random urine and breathalyzer tests.

He is scheduled for arraignment Thursday morning.
