BROOKS Co., GA (WTXL) - Brooks County Schools now have a new interim Superintendent.
The Board of Education says they have appointed Lance D. Heard and that he begin the position on January 4.
Brooks County Schools officials say Heard has been with the Cook County School District for 18 years, serving in a variety of roles from teacher and Assistant Principle to Superintendent.
"I appreciate the opportunity the Brooks Co BOE has given me to serve as their interim Superintendent in the coming months. I look forward to working with the faculty and staff of Brooks County Schools," said Heard.
Heard has a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education from Valdosta State College, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership also from VSU.
