BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL)--A Brooks County man is arrested for killing a two-year-old child.
On Thursday morning around 2:30, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Brooks County Sheriff's Office arrested 31-year-old James Michael Smith Jr. for murdering Parker Bledsoe.
The child was found unresponsive in his home on June 11. Smith called 911. Bledsoe was taken to Shand's Hospital in Gainesville, Florida where he later died from head trauma, an autopsy showed.
Smith has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, and cruelty to children in the first degree. Smith is at the Brooks County Jail where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
