BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL) - After weeks of working, the Broad Street Alley project is nearing completion, though there is still a bit of work to do.
Two of three concrete pours have been completed on the 10 foot by 200 foot alleyway.
Once completed, there will be cafe lighting, tables, chairs, and plants.
The hope is that this alley will add something more to the Historic Downtown Square.
"The historic buildings, the facades of them are very important, obviously, but as well as the back entrances. This particular alleyway is visible from West Street and from Broad Street," said Amanda Glover, Executive Director of Downtown Development Authority for Bainbridge. "It's important to make sure the front and the backs of the buildings are in good working conditions."
The recent rains we have had these last several weeks have caused a slight delay in opening the alley.
