TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - With October officially over, it also marks the conclusion of breast cancer awareness month. One local organization, formed to financially support those living with terminal breast cancer, says last month's contributions will help them give out support to more people in need.
The mission of the "Joanna Francis Living Well Foundation" is to get the entire community involved in the fight. During the past month, the organization broke a fundraising record, with the launch of it's "Go Pink Lemonade" initiative. Local businesses around the community came together to sell lemonade for the cause. Board members say the lemonade stands collectively raised $25,000.
Officials with the JFLWF say past events, on average, have raised nearly 8-thousand dollars. The organization's next event will be their annual fashion show in February,
