COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--A Branford man is dead after a crashing into a tree early Monday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say 38-year-old Ronnie Gene Kirby, Jr. was driving on State Road 247 in Columbia County.
He crashed about three miles north of CR-240. Troopers say he wasn't wearing a seat belt.
They say it's unclear why his pick-up truck drifted to the left, ran off the road, and hit an oak tree. He died at the scene.
