PALATKA, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a dog bit a 3-year-old north Florida child on the head.
Putnam County Sheriff's officials say the child was flown to UF Health Hospital in Gainesville for treatment on Sunday morning.
The St. Augustine Record (http://bit.ly/1ndVhek ) reports the child was playing with toy trucks on the floor when the family dog attacked him. Sheriff's deputies say the boy had "significant injuries to his head and ear."
The child's condition wasn't known.
Officials say a county animal control officer took the dog, which will be quarantined during an investigation.
