HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) — Miami-Dade police have arrested a 15-year-old boy and charged him with first-degree murder in the killing of a 16-year-old boy in Homestead.
Police tell local media that two teens were killed and three others were wounded in two incidents over the weekend in South Miami-Dade County. The 15-year-old boy has been charged with killing Rahkeem Brown.
Authorities say Brown and another boy were outside a home Sunday evening when both were shot. Brown died of his injuries.
The shooting occurred one day after — and about 5 miles away from — a shooting in which three teenagers were shot inside a car in Florida City. A 17-year-old girl died and two other girls were wounded.
Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta says investigators are not sure if the two shootings are related.
