LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - After a 9-year hiatus, the Booked for Lunch returns to Leon County libraries.
Booked for Lunch is a free community event that features local authors speaking about how they developed their style and writing process.
The return of the Booked for Lunch was made possible by a grant from lifelong library supporter Walli Beall.
Library staff say bringing back the event means a lot to the library and community.
"I think it gives all of us an opportunity to meet and speak with fellow community members who are writing whether its non-fiction or whether they are working on local history or writing fiction or poetry," said Cay Hohmeister, Director of Leon County LeRoy Collins Public Library. "It's just interesting to have people read."
The library staff say they hope to have a Booked for Lunch every other month.
